- Sixteenth-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer (2-2-0) is scheduled to trek to Joplin, Mo., for a 6 p.m. non-conference match at Missouri Southern (0-3-1) Friday, Sept. 15, at Hal Bodon Field before welcoming Northwest Missouri (2-1-1) in a non-conference contest for the 2023 home opener in Warrensburg at the South Recreation Complex Sunday, Sept 17, at 1 p.m.
- Central Missouri is ranked No. 16 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll and is the favorite in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- The Jennies are coming off a 1-1-0 showing last week in Mankato, Minn. UCM fell to then No. 8-ranked Minnesota State, 1-0, Sept. 8, before defeating UMary Sept. 10, 3-1

Last Time Out for the Jennies
- No. 20-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer posted a 3-1 victory over the UMary Marauders Sunday afternoon, Sept. 10, at The Pitch in Mankato, Minn.
- UCM struck early, gaining a 1-0 advantage just 11 minutes into the match when freshman Mikayla Ernst netted her team-best third goal of the season.
- Sophomore Anna Lack doubled the Jennies' lead to 2-0 with her first goal of 2023 just before halftime in the 41st-minute.
- Redshirt junior Caroline Cole provided the final goal for Central Missouri, scoring her first goal of the season in the 53rd-minute, upping UCM's lead to 3-0.
- The Marauders netted a goal just before the end of the match in the 89th-minute for the 3-1 final score.
- Ernst tallied four shots and three shots on goal and Cole added three shots with two shots on goal, pacing the Jennies offensively for the contest.
- UCM goalkeeper Kristen Wright (1-1-0) earned the victory between the pipes after giving up one goal and making two saves in 90 minutes.

- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 72-4-1 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 56 goals.
- All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 147-14-8 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 211-35-9 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.
New Faces in the 'Burg
Series History
- Missouri Southern: The Jennies and Lions will meet for the 39th time in the all-time series Friday in Joplin, Mo. UCM holds a 27-8-3 advantage in the series. Last season, Central Missouri defeated Missouri Southern twice, winning in Warrensburg, 8-2, and in Joplin, 2-0.
- Northwest Missouri: UCM and Northwest Missouri State will meet for the 44th time in the all-time series Sunday afternoon in Warrensburg. The Jennies lead the series, 35-3-5, including a 20-1-0 advantage at the South Recreation Complex. Last season, Central Missouri went 2-0-0 against Northwest Missouri, taking down the Bearcats in Maryville, 1-0, prior to winning in Warrensburg, 2-1.
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Lewis Theobald, now in his 16th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.
The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year has an impressive 277-43-23 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in both Jennies soccer and MIAA women's soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.
Theobald entered the 2023 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .845 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is fifth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.

He has coached 126 All-Conference players, including Most Valuable Players Melanie Hall, Kayla Shain and two-time Player of the Year Alyssa Rhodes; Offensive Players of the Years Carly Stanley, Julie Ireland, Jada Scott, Kassie Newsom and
Julia Kristensen; Freshmen of the Year Alyssa Rhodes, Stanley, Hannah Pyle, Alexis Robbers, Nicki Wisnasky,
Caroline Cole and
Julia Kristensen; Defenders of the Year, Emily Eldridge, Allysa Gann, Cindy Lackey and Abby Rhodes; two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Lindsey Johnson and four-time Goalkeeper of the Year Ana Dilkes.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.

The Jennies are back on the road to open MIAA play, traveling to Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo., Friday, Sept. 22, and Northwest Missouri in Maryville, Mo., Sunday, Sept. 24.
