INDIANAPOLIS -- Central Missouri Mules golf will continue it's 2022-23 season after earning an at-large berth to the NCAA-II Central/Midwest Regional Championship May 11-13 at The Bridges Golf Course in Winona, Minn.
Central Missouri along with teams from the rest of the MIAA, Northern Sun and Great American Conference make up the Central Region. Ten teams from the three conferences along with four individuals will compete at the regional championship. Joining the Central Region is the Midwest Region with their ten teams and four individuals to form a super region with a 20 team, 90 individual field.
The Mules are one of five MIAA teams to qualify for the regional. Missouri Southern earned the conference's automatic bid after capturing the MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships while UCM, Northeastern State, Washburn, and Central Oklahoma all received at-large bids.
Central Missouri has competed in five events this spring, posting three top-five finishes, two of which were first-place finishes.Â
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the NCAA-II Men's Golf Championship May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven.Â
