Mules Baseball Stomps Drury Wednesday, 13-1

OZARK, Mo. – Carter Young tallied five RBI and Max Holy went 4-of-4 at the plate as Central Missouri Mules baseball stomped the Drury Panthers, 13-1 in seven innings, Wednesday, March 8, at U.S. Baseball Park.

The Mules (13-6) are scheduled to travel to Emporia, Kan., for a three-game MIAA series at Emporia State Feb. 10-12.

Young, a redshirt junior outfielder from Lee's Summit, Mo., collected his five runs driven in on a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, falling a homer shy of the cycle with a double and triple. Quinton Hall, Vance Tobol, Mason Lowe and Ethan Imel each added a pair of hits, and Brett Grupe compiled a double, leading Central Missouri offensively in the victory.

In his first appearance on the mound since suffering an injury in 2021, UCM right-hander Jacob Beauchamp tossed a pair of hitless innings in relief with two strikeouts and no walks to earn the victory.

The Mules scored at least two runs in every inning except for the first and the third en route to the run-rule triumph.

Wes Collins went 1-for-3 and had the lone RBI for the home team, pacing Drury (9-7) at the plate.

Tyler Bastunas (0-2) suffered the loss on the rubber after surrendering six earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and a walk in three innings.
