DULUTH, Minn. – Olivia Nelson scored 22 points and
Brooke Littrell added 21 points, but it wasn't enough, as the No. 11-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball team fell to the No. 12-ranked Minnesota State Mavericks, 83-81, in the opening round of the NCAA-II Central Regional Friday, March 10, inside Romano Gymnasium on the Minnesota Duluth campus.
With the loss, the Jennies finish their 2022-23 season with an overall record of 25-5.
Nelson went 7-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 at the free-throw line for her 22 points while Littrell was 8-of-20 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line for her 21 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season. Graduate student
Robin Campbell also reached double figures for the Jennies, scoring 11 points in the final game of her career.
For the game, Central Missouri shot 51 percent from the field, going 30-of-59, and were 19-of-24 at the free-throw line for 79 percent. UCM outrebounded Minnesota State (26-4), 40-34, but committed 22 turnovers compared to 13 for the Mavericks.
Joey Batt had 23 points of 9-of-19 shooting from the floor to lead Minnesota State.
