Jennies Softball Splits Final Day of HSU/OBU Tournament

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Central Missouri Jennies (5-3, 0-0) concluded the HSU/OBU Tournament with a doubleheader split against the Henderson State Reddies (6-6, 0-0) falling in game one by a final score of 4-0 and winning game two by a final score of 8-0 on Sunday, Feb.19, from Dee White Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The Jennies return to the diamond on Tuesday, Feb. 21, hosting William Jewell for a doubleheader with game one's first pitch set for 2:00 p.m. from the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg, Mo.
 
Game 1: Henderson State 4, Central Missouri 0
The Reddies plated a pair of runs in the first and then again in the third while in the circle Brooke Johnson held UCM to just three hits total (two from catcher Laney Killpack and one from senior Abbey Fischer).
 
Pitcher Mandy Hansen suffers the loss for the Jennies as she goes just three innings, allowing four hits, four runs (one earned) and striking out four.
 
 
Game 2: Central Missouri 8, Henderson State 0
The Jennies began the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the second off the bat of MaKenzie Cooper adding another one on a heads up baserunning play from Carly Youngblood. Central Missouri would add another run in the fourth on an RBI groundout from Abby Allnutt.
 
In the fifth, the Jens would add five more runs highlighted by a three-run homer from third baseman Jessica Sader. The winning pitcher for UCM was freshman Andi Siebeneck who threw a complete game shutout allowing just four hits and striking out four in five innings.
