  • Central Missouri continues MIAA conference play with a pair of games hosting the Pittsburg State Gorillas (Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m.) and the Missouri Southern Lions (Saturday, Feb. 4, at 3:00 p.m.) from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.

  • UCM fell 57-49 to the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday, Jan. 28, inside Jason Gymnasium in Jefferson City, Mo.    
  • The Mules had two players finish in double figures including sophomore Jack Chapman (team-high 13 points and four rebounds) and forward Gaven Pinkley (11 points, team-high seven rebounds and four assists).
  • Redshirt sophomore Mikel Henderson added nine points, two rebounds and two assists while guard Garrett Luinstra contributed five points and four rebounds respectively.
  • Guard Jordan Hayes made his first start for the Mules and ended the contest with a team-high six assists (adding six rebounds and two points); plus, sophomore Ben Fritz had four points and three rebounds overall.

  • The Mules come into Thursday's game averaging 68.2 points per game while shooting 41.4 percent from the field, including 32.1 percent from beyond the arc.   
  • UCM has two players averaging in double figures in redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley (12.8 points per game) and guard Mikel Henderson (12.7 points per game).

SERIES HISTORY VS PITTSBURG STATE
  • Heading into Thursday's contest, the Mules hold a 74-47 lead dating back to 1916-17, with the Gorillas winning the last contest in Warrensburg (2/7/2022) by a final score of 71-68.
  • In the 71-68 victory last season, the Gorillas were led by R.J. Lawrence's 20 points and Cameron Huefner's 17 points; while the Mules had two players finish with 21 points (Cameron Hunter and Ja'Cor Nelson).
  • Central Missouri won the previous matchup between these two teams (12/17/2022) by a final score of 64-62, erasing a 17-point Gorilla lead as Jack Chapman's game-winning bucket was made with 1.0 second left on the clock inside John Lance Arena in Pittsburg.
  • In the victory back on Dec. 17, the Mules had three players finish the contest in double figures including guard Mikel Henderson (14 points), redshirt sophomore Kobe Campbell (12 points), and forward Jack Chapman (12 points). 
 
 
SERIES HISTORY VS MISSOURI SOUTHERN
  • Heading into Saturday's contest, the Mules hold a 41-32 advantage all-time against Missouri Southern dating back to 1970-71 season.
  • Central Missouri is 22-11 in Warrensburg against the Lions all-time including last season's 75-74 win (2/5/2022).
  • In the 75-74 victory, UCM had two players finish with 23 points (Cameron Hunter and Ja'Cor Nelson) while Koray Gilbert added eight points and Gaven Pinkley contributed seven.
  • The Lions claimed victory in the first matchup of the season (12/13/2022) by a final score of 82-74 inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin.
  • In the loss 82-74, the Mules were led by redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley's season-high 28 points while guard Mikel Henderson added 22 points.
