  • Central Missouri Mules basketball continues MIAA play against the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 3:00 p.m. inside Jason Gymnasium in Jefferson City.   
  • The Mules fell 59-58 to the Newman Jets on Saturday, Dec. 2, inside Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan.

  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
 
 
MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 

LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (4-2, 0-2) fell to the Newman Jets (4-3, 1-1) by a final score of 59-58 on Saturday, Dec. 2, inside Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita. 
  • The Jets began the contest on a 9-2 run, but UCM responded with a run of their own taking the lead with seven minutes remaining in the half with a three-pointer from Jalen Knott (11 points, four rebounds, and two assists overall) as the halftime score was tied at 25.
  • With the Mules holding onto a two-point lead with four seconds remaining in the second half, Kaeson Fisher-Brown connected from three at the buzzer as the Jets win their fourth game of the season.
  • Freshman Tim Jordan Jr. led Central Missouri with a career-high 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while the Mules outscored Newman 27-17 in bench points highlighted by guard KJ Vasser's 12 points as forward Keith Kiner III added nine points and junior Ben Fritz had four points and two rebounds.
  • Forward Jack Chapman contributed five rebounds, three points, and two assists as UCM outscored the Jets 18-2 in second chance points, 11-4 off turnovers, and 30-24 in the paint on the afternoon. Guard Stevie Smith paced Newman with 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists respectively.
 

UCM BY THE NUMBERS
  • Through six games this season, the Mules are averaging 68.8 points per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field, including 29.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73.1 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 37.2 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 4.7 steals, and 3.2 blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have four players averaging double figure scoring this season including redshirt senior Caleb Nero (13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest), guard Jalen Knott (11.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and one steal per game), freshman Tim Jordan Jr. (11.3 points, five rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest), and forward Keith Kiner III (10.8 points, five rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and one assist per game).     
 

SERIES HISTORY VS LINCOLN
  • Saturday afternoon will be the 104th all-time meeting between the Mules and Blue Tigers with UCM holding a 63-40 advantage. In Jefferson City, the Mules are 26-21 overall with Lincoln winning the last six meetings inside Jason Gymnasium.  
  • Last season in Jefferson City, the Blue Tigers defeated Central Missouri 57-49 (Jan. 28) led by Kevin Kione's game-high 14 points and 18 rebounds.  
  • The Mules had double-digit scoring performances from forward Jack Chapman (13 points and four rebounds) and redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley (11 points, team-high seven rebounds, and four assists) while guard Mikel Henderson added nine points.
 
 
 UP NEXT
  • Central Missouri returns to the court on Thursday, Dec. 14, as they host the Missouri Southern Lions with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
