TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball heads to Las Vegas, Nev. for the 2023 Las Vegas High Desert Classic for a pair of games against the Missouri – St. Louis Tritons (Monday, Dec. 18) and the Truman State Bulldogs (Tuesday, Dec. 19) with both games scheduled for 8:00 p.m. (CST) inside Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas.   
  • The Mules fell 75-56 to the Missouri Southern Lions on Thursday, Dec. 14, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.  
 
 ON THE AIR 
  • Both games will be broadcasted on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com with Greg Hassler and Kim Anderson on the call.
  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 8:00 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday evenings.
 
 MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (4-4, 0-4) fell to the Missouri Southern Lions (4-7, 2-3) by a final score of 75-56 on Thursday, Dec. 14, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg. 
  • After a tightly contested opening half of play, the Lions took a five-point lead into the break and never relinquished as they picked up their fourth win of the season led by Darius Dawson's game-high 29 points and game-high 10 rebounds.
  • Central Missouri had three double-digit scoring performances from guard Caleb Nero (12 points, two assists, and two steals), freshman Tim Jordan Jr. (11 points and three rebounds), and guard Jalen Knott (10 points, three rebounds, and two steals).
  • Freshman KJ Vasser contributed nine of the Mules' 11 bench points on the night going 2-of-6 from beyond the arc for good measure. Sophomore Terrance Broughton had eight points, two rebounds and two assists while forward Keith Kiner III had four points and three rebounds respectively.
 
UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through eight games this season, the Mules are averaging 65.1 points per game while shooting 38.5 percent from the field, including 29 percent from beyond the arc and 73.3 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 36 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 4.9 steals, and 2.8 blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have four players averaging double figure scoring this season including redshirt senior Caleb Nero (12.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest), forward Tim Jordan Jr. (11.5 points, five rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest), redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and one assist per game), and guard Jalen Knott (10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game).     
 
SERIES HISTORY VS MISSOURI – ST. LOUIS
  • Monday night's game will be the 34th all-time meeting between the Tritons and the Mules with UCM holding a 21-12 advantage dating back to the 1914-15 season.  
  • The last meeting between both teams came in 2018 resulting in an 84-74 Tritons win in St. Louis led by Johnathan Matthews' 26 points.   
  • Central Missouri had four double-digit scoring performances including Jafar Kinsey (23 points and eight rebounds), Blake Spellman (12 points), Matt Wilkinson (11 points), and Daniel Farris (11 points).
 
SERIES HISTORY VS TRUMAN STATE
  • Tuesday's matchup between the Bulldogs and Mules will be the 194th all-time meeting dating back to the 1919-20 season with UCM holding a 128-65 advantage.   
  • The Mules have won the last six contests following a 76-64 win in February of 2013 inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg claiming a share of the 2013 MIAA Regular Season title.   
  • UCM had two players record double-double performances including Charles Hammork (20 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, and three steals) and Alex Dean (12 points and 11 rebounds).
