WICHITA, Kan. -- No. 15-ranked and second-seeded University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer secured a spot in the 2023 MIAA Women's Soccer Championship match after shutting out third-seeded Fort Hays State, 1-0, in a semifinal match Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Stryker Soccer Complex.
The Jennies (15-3-2) will face the winner of the No. 1 seed Washburn and No. 4 seed Emporia State semifinal match in the championship match Saturday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. in Wichita.
Lexie Ruf netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal for Central Missouri in the 39th-minute off an assist from
Molly Ricker. It was her team-high sixth goal of the season.
For the match, UCM outshot Fort Hays State (13-4-3), 8-4, including a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also narrowly edged the Tigers in corner kicks, 3-2.

Kristen Wright (14-2-2) earned the win and collected her ninth shutout in goal after going the full 90 minutes and allowing no goals while making three saves.
FHSU goalkeeper Isabel Robben (13-4-3) suffered the loss after giving up one goal and making three saves in 90 minutes.
