Mules Basketball Begins 2023-24 Season at GAC / MIAA Conference Challenge

Central Missouri Mules basketball begins the 2023-24 campaign on Friday, Nov. 10, in the opening day of the GAC / MIAA Conference Challenge against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers at 7:30 p.m. before taking on the Harding Bisons on Saturday, Nov. 11, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Fort Smith, Ark.
Adam Bohac was named the 25^th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play making three post season appearances.

MEET THE MULES

The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kiner III (Niagra).
Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.

MULES BY THE NUMBERS

Last season, the Mules averaged 67.4 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from the field, including 32.3 percent from beyond the arc.

SERIES HISTORY VS OUACHITA BAPTIST

Friday night's contest will be the first meeting between both teams. Head coach Adam Bohac compiled an 18-8 overall record against the Tigers during his tenure as head coach of Southern Nazarene.

SERIES HISTORY VS HARDING

Saturday afternoon will be the third all-time meeting between the Mules and Bisons as each team has a 1-1 record. In November of 2018, the Mules came away with an 85-62 win inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg. Forward Gaven Pinkley led the Mules with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two steals for good measure.

UCM returns to the court on Saturday, Nov. 18 as they host Missouri S&T at 7:00 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
