TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball begins MIAA play with a pair of games on the road against No. 3 Central Oklahoma Bronchos (Thursday, Nov. 30) beginning at 7:30 p.m. from Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla. before taking on the Newman Jets (Saturday, Dec. 2) with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan.   
  • The Mules defeated the Park Pirates (4-3, 0-0) by a final score of 72-60 on Saturday, Nov. 25, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.

  • All games will also be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night and 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
  
MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (4-0, 0-0) defeated the Park Pirates (4-3, 0-0) by a final score of 72-60 on Saturday, Nov. 25, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
  • The Mules trailed by as many as six midway through the first half but took a nine-point lead into the break led by Caleb Nero's 12 points. The redshirt senior from Tulsa, Okla. finished the contest with a game-high 22 points adding two rebounds and two assists.
  • UCM had two players record double-double performances in redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (career-high 16 points, career-high 10 rebounds, career-high four assists, and career-high four blocks) and forward Tim Jordan Jr. (career-high 15 points, career-high 10 rebounds, and career-high three assists) in the winning effort.
  • Guard KJ Vasser had 11 of the Mules' 15 bench points, connecting three times from beyond the arc in four attempts while junior Jalen Knott (five rebounds, four assists, and two steals) and forward Jack Chapman (career-high two blocks and two rebounds) had four points each.
  
UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through four games this season, the Mules are averaging 73.3 points per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, including 30-percent from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent from the free-throw line.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 38 rebounds, 10.8 assists, 5.5 steals, and 3.3 blocks per contest.
  • UCM has four players averaging double figure scoring this season including guard Caleb Nero (16 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest), redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, two blocks, and 1.3 assists per game), guard Jalen Knott (11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest) and freshman Tim Jordan Jr. (10.5 points, four rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game).     
 
SERIES HISTORY VS NO. 3 CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
  • Thursday night's contest will be the 25th all-time meeting between the Mules and Bronchos dating back to the 1957-58 season with UCO leading 14-10 overall, including a 6-4 advantage in Edmond.
  • In their last matchup in Edmond during the 2021-22 campaign, the Mules snapped a four-game losing streak with a 70-69 victory as Cameron Hunter's three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining was the difference.
  • Hunter finished the game with 27 points, while Ja'Cor Nelson had a double-double performance (14 points and 11 rebounds) and Trey Sides added 11 points.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS NEWMAN
  • Central Missouri heads into Saturday's contest with a 4-1 advantage against the Jets dating back to the 2017-18 season and have won the last three matchups.
  • The Mules are 1-1 in Wichita following a 62-57 win during the 2020-21 season led by Koray Gilbert's team-high 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
  • Guard Garrett Luinstra added 12 points and four rebounds, while junior Gaven Pinkley had 10 points and six rebounds respectively.

  • Central Missouri returns to the court on Saturday, Dec. 9, as they conclude a three-game road trip against the Lincoln Blue Tigers with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside Jason Gymnasium in Jefferson City, Mo.
