Mules Basketball Hosts Missouri S&T for 2023-24 Home Opener Saturday Night

TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball returns to the court to host the Missouri S&T Miners on Saturday, Nov. 18, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.  
  • The Mules went 2-0 last weekend with a pair of wins against Ouachita Baptist (72-66) on Friday, Nov. 10 and Harding (62-59) on Saturday, Nov. 11, during the MIAA / GAC Conference Challenge from Fort Smith, Ark.
  • Ahead of Saturday night's contest against the Miners, all fans who attend the home playoff football game against the Henderson State Reddies at Walton Stadium / Kennedy Field and present their ticket stub upon arrival into the Multipurpose Building, will receive free admission into the basketball game. 
 
MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play making three post season appearances.
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
MULES BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through two games this season, the Mules are averaging 67.0 points per game while shooting 38.7 percent from the field, including 21.6 percent from beyond the arc.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 38 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 3.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per contest.
  • UCM has three players averaging double figure scoring this season including guard Jalen Knott (13 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game), redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (11.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest), and guard Caleb Nero (11.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game).    
 
SERIES HISTORY VS MISSOURI S&T
  • Saturday night's contest will be the 155th all-time meeting between the Mules and Miners with UCM leading the series 120-34. The last contest was a 92-73 Mules victory in November of 2015 in Rolla as Isiah Sykes led UCM with 16 points while Brad Woodson, Tereke Eckwood, and Marquiez Lawrence added 13 points each.
