No. 21 Jennies Volleyball Clinches 26th MIAA Regular Season Title With 3-1 Win Over FHSU

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 21 Central Missouri Jennies (20-7, 17-2) clinch a share of their MIAA-leading 26th regular season title with a victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers (11-18, 5-15) by a final score of 3-1 (25-13, 25-15, 19-25, 25-22) on Friday, Nov. 10, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.  
 
Central Missouri began the match on a 7-2 run with a kill by middle blocker Rachel Ziesman (11 kills, a career-high seven blocks, and five digs overall) and ended with a service ace from junior Arley Anderson (14 digs, two assists and a match-high two service aces overall). In the second leading by four, the Jens doubled their lead with a 6-1 run with a kill from redshirt senior Sydney Lierz (six digs, four kills, and three assists overall).
 
The Tigers responded with a 25-19 victory in set three, but UCM led 21-20 in the fourth and ended the match on a 5-2 run. Reigning MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week Kersti Nix led the Jennies offensively with a match-high 15 kills on 33 swings (.303 hitting percentage) adding a career-best six blocks, while outside hitter Emma Siron had 12 kills, a career-high four blocks, and two digs for good measure.
 
Redshirt senior Olivia Olson recorded her team-leading 15th double-double on the year with 40 assists, 13 digs, three kills, and two blocks, plus, freshman Elinor Engel had 11 kills on 26 attempts (.385 attack percentage) and six blocks in the winning effort.
 
Defensively, Central Missouri outhit the Tigers .258 to .172 overall including .324 to .088 in the first set thanks to a match-high 17 digs from libero Grace Winkelmann, while redshirt senior Jackie Storm collected seven digs respectively.  
 
No. 21 Central Missouri returns to the court on Saturday, Nov. 11, as they host No. 10 Nebraska-Kearney Lopers with first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo for Senior Day.
