Scene Setter
  • Central Missouri volleyball (11-5, 8-0) concludes a three-match home stand on Tuesday, Oct. 10, against Northwest Missouri (9-7, 4-4) with first serve beginning at 6:00 p.m. from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.
  • Last week, the Jens won a pair matches over the Missouri Southern Lions 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-22) on Tuesday, Oct. 3, before defeating the Newman Jets 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 26-24) on Thursday, Oct. 5. The Jens improved to 8-0 in MIAA play, which ties the best start in conference play since 2013.  
  • Tuesday's match is a blackout theme, as all fans are encouraged to wear black attire and will receive a black pom-pom (while supplies last). UCM students in attendance (with student ID), will also receive a free blackout t-shirt courtesy of UCM Athletics (while supplies last).

  • Tuesday's match will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network with coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m.     

Last Time Out
  • UCM defeated the Newman Jets by a final score of 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 26-24) on Thursday, Oct. 5, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.
  • Outside hitter Kersti Nix led the Jens offensively with a team-high eight kills on 14 swings (.571 attack percentage) adding two digs, while freshman Emma Siron contributed seven kills respectively.
  • Middle blocker Rachel Ziesman had six kills, a team-high four blocks and four digs, plus, setter Olivia Olson collected a match-high 26 assists, six digs, four kills and three service aces in the winning effort.
  • Defensively, Central Missouri outhit the Jets by a margin of .206 to .094 overall highlighted by libero Grace Winkelmann's team-high 12 digs, while junior Arley Anderson collected eight digs and outside hitter Sydney Lierz had five digs for good measure.

Series History
  • Northwest Missouri: Heading into Tuesday night's matchup, the Jens hold a 116-12 advantage overall against Northwest dating back to the 1977 season. UCM is 45-4 all-time in Warrensburg against the Bearcats including last season's 3-2 (25-19, 25-14, 10-25, 20-25, 15-10) victory. The Jens had two double-double performances including junior Sydney Lierz' 14 kills, 13 digs, and a career-high six service aces. Outside hitter Kersti Nix led Central Missouri with a match-high 20 kills while freshman Rachel Ziesman added 12 kills respectively. Redshirt senior Rylie Barnum collected a match-high 25 digs while defensive specialist Grace Winkelmann added 14 digs in the winning effort.

  • Central Missouri is averaging 16.0 digs, 13.4 kills, 12.2 assists, 2.35 blocks (second-best in the conference) and 1.3 service aces per set through sixteen matches this season.
  • Setter Olivia Olson leads the Jens with 11 double-doubles on the year collecting a MIAA-leading 670 assists averaging 10.31 assists per set (ranks second in the MIAA) while having the second-most digs (173) and third in blocks (48) on the team.
  • Redshirt senior Kersti Nix leads UCM with 218 kills (second in the MIAA) on the season averaging 3.35 kills per set (third-most in the conference) while averaging 3.69 points per set (ranks fifth in the MIAA) and has the second-most double-doubles on the team with four.
  • Middle Blocker Grace Southern's 72 blocks leads UCM averaging 1.31 per set (best in the conference) and hitting percentage at .304 (eighth in the MIAA). Southern is third on the team in kills with 137 (2.49 kills per set) and points with 184.5 (3.35 points per set).
  • Redshirt sophomore Grace Winklemann leads the Jens with 246 digs on the year averaging 3.78 digs per set and has collected double-digit digs in 14 consecutive matches including four with 20 or more.
