No. 8 Jennies Soccer Mauls Hillcats Friday, 4-0

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 8-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer scored three first half goals and added another in the second half enroute to a 4-0, shutout victory over the Rogers State Hillcats Friday, Oct. 6, at the South Recreation Complex.

The Jennies, (8-2-1, 3-0-1 MIAA) are slated to host Northeastern State Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.

Caroline Cole wasted no time putting the Jennies in front, scoring 25 seconds into the match off a Ryann Clark assist, giving UCM the 1-0 lead. It was Cole's third goal of the season. Central Missouri doubled its lead in the 13th-minute after a Rogers State own goal before Clark made it 3-0, UCM, with her first collegiate goal in the 30th-minute via an assist from Lexie Ruf.

Central Missouri tacked on a fourth goal in the 67th-minute when Ruf scored her second goal of 2023 after a feed from Clark.

For the match, the Jennies outshot the Hillcats (4-5-2, 2-3-0 MIAA), 18-3, including a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal. UCM also bested Rogers State in corner kicks, 3-1.

Central Missouri goalkeeper Kristen Wright (7-1-1) earned the win between the pipes after giving up no goals in 75+ minutes of action. She and fellow Jenny goalkeeper Sydney Beck combined to secure UCM's eighth shutout of the season after surrendering zero goals.
