TOPEKA, Kan. – The Central Missouri Jennies (14-7, 11-2) swept No. 21 Washburn Ichabods (13-6, 7-5) by a final score of 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-14) on Friday, Oct. 20, inside Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.
The Jens began the match on a 5-1 run thanks to one of six
Rachel Ziesman (match-high 13 kills on 23 swings, good enough for a .565 hitting percentage adding three blocks overall) helping UCM take a 1-0 lead.
The Ichabods responded with a 4-1 run to begin the second and held a slight margin, but Central Missouri answered with a 9-2 run highlighted by three kills from outside hitter
Sydney Lierz (11 digs and eight kills overall) and a pair of kills from freshman
Emma Siron (five kills overall) taking a 2-0 lead.
Beginning with a redshirt senior
Kersti Nix (11 kills on 21 swings for a .476 attack percentage) kill that tied things at eight in the third set, the Jennies went on a 6-2 run and never relinquished earning their 11

Elinor Engel added nine kills (on 18 attempts for a .444 hitting percentage) and two blocks in the winning effort.
Defensively, UCM outhit the Ichabods .384 to .171 on the night including a margin of .484 to .100 in the third set led by libero
Grace Winkelmann's match-high 14 digs, plus, defensive specialist
Arley Anderson collected 12 digs for good measure.
Central Missouri returns to the court on Saturday, Oct. 21, as they take on the Emporia State Hornets with first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
