EMPORIA, Kan. – No. 8-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer posted a 1-0, shutout win over the Emporia State Hornets Friday afternoon, Oct. 13, at the ESU Soccer Pitch.
The Jennies (10-2-1, 5-0-1 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Topeka, Kan., to face No. 23 Washburn (10-1-1, 4-0-1 MIAA) Sunday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium.
Lexie Ruf tallied what proved to be the game-winning goal for UCM in the 72nd-minute off a deflection from a corner kick. It was her third goal of the season.
For the match, Central Missouri outshot Emporia State (4-5-4, 3-2-1 MIAA), 15-8, including a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. UCM also posted an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Kristen Wright (9-1-1) earned her seventh shutout of 2023 after allowing no goals and making two saves in 90 minutes.
