  • UCM defeated the Missouri Western Griffons 79-74 on Saturday, Jan. 21, inside the MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph, Mo.    
  • The Mules rallied back from a 14-point second half deficit highlighted by redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley's game-high 26 points, who surpassed Gordan McFarland (1959-63) for 10th all-time in career scoring with 1,287 points.
  • Central Missouri had four other players finish in double figures including redshirt sophomore Mikel Henderson (16 points and two rebounds), guard Trey Sides (15 points, two rebounds, and two assists), redshirt junior Garrett Luinstra (11 points, five rebounds, and a team-high five assists), and forward Jack Chapman (10 points, three rebounds, and three assists).
 
 
MULES BY THE NUMBERS 
  • The Mules come into Saturday's game averaging 69.2 points per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, including 32.8 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Heading into Saturday contest, the Mules hold a 63-38 all-time series lead dating back to 1954-55.
  • The Blue Tigers won last season's matchup in Jefferson City (2/26/2022) 89-79, while also defeating UCM earlier this season in Warrensburg (12/11/2022) 74-72.
  • Last season in Jefferson City, the Mules were led by Ja'Cor Nelson's 19 points and four rebounds while Gaven Pinkley added 17 points.
