No. 18 Jennies Volleyball Hosts UCO and Newman on Family Weekend

No. 18 Central Missouri continues their six-match home stand with Central Oklahoma (Friday, 6:00 p.m.) and Newman (Saturday, 6:30 p.m.) during Family Weekend.
Redshirt junior outside hitter Kersti Nix was named the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week compiling 59 kills (4.54 kills per set) and a .343 attack percentage, in three matches.
UCM went 2-1 last week with wins over Drury and Fort Hays, while falling to (No. 7) Nebraska-Kearney.

How to Watch

Both matches will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network with coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Time Out

The Jens fell to No. 7 Nebraska-Kearney in five sets (24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 29-27, 11-15) on Saturday, Sept. 24, inside the Multipurpose Building.
Outside hitter Kersti Nix led Central Missouri offensively with 20 kills, plus Grace Southern added a season-high 14 kills.
Redshirt junior Sydey Lierz recorded her team-high fourth double-double on the year (17 digs and 10 kills), while setter Chandler Vaughan had multiple season-highs including assists (53) and kills (seven).
UCM's defense was led by libero Rylie Barnum's team-high 24 digs, and redshirt freshman Jenna Schulte added seven blocks.

UCM in the Polls

The Jens are ranked No. 18 in the latest AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches' Association) poll, moving down one spot from the previous week. Central Missouri is one of four teams from the MIAA to make an appearance on the list including (No. 6) Nebraska-Kearney, (No. 8) Washburn, and (No. 10) Northwest Missouri.
Central Oklahoma is currently the top recipient of honorable mention consideration with 103 votes respectively.
