WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Fourth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer ran its winning streak to seven matches with a 5-0 shutout victory over the Newman Jets in a MIAA match Sunday, Sept. 25, at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (9-0-1, 3-0 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Claremore, Okla., Friday, Sept. 30, for a MIAA contest at Rogers State.
UCM used a three-goal first half and two-goal second half to earn its second straight shutout win.
Ashleigh Martin opened the scoring for the home side in the 21st minute, netting her first goal of the season on a shot from the top left of the box, giving the Jennies to 1-0 lead.
Julia Kristensen doubled the Central Missouri advantage to 2-0 just four minutes later, placing a strike from the middle of the box into the center of the net in the 25th minute for her team-high-tying sixth goal of 2022. UCM upped its lead to 3-0 in the 28th minute when
Molly Ricker belted a shot from the middle of the box home for her inaugural goal of the season.
The Jennies tacked on a pair of goals in the second 45 minutes of the match for the final, 5-0 triumph.

For the match, Central Missouri posted a commanding 22-3 advantage over Newman in shots taken, including a 10-0 margin in shots on goal. The Jennies held the Jets (0-9-1, 0-3 MIAA) without a corner kick the entire contest while taking eight of their own.
UCM goalkeepers
Sydney Beck and
Olivia Ways teamed up to earn a combined shutout between the pipes, allowing zero goals in 90 minutes. Beck earned the victory, improving to 9-0-1 in-goal after playing just under 61 minutes.
Jordan Webster (0-9-1) suffered the loss between the posts for Newman, making five saves but giving up five goals in 90 minutes.
