PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 8 ranked volleyball team in the country was back on the court for the final match of the 2022 Springhill Suites Invitational against the host school the No. 5 ranked West Florida Argonauts.
After losing the first two sets, UCM fought back to force a fifth, but lost the match by a final score of 3-2 (22-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-16, 7-15). The Argonauts were led by sophomore Jenna Zydlo with a match-high 21 kills on 33 attempts for a .515 hitting percentage.
The Jens had a pair of double-double performances including
Olivia Olson (21 assists & 17 digs) and
Sydney Lierz (14 kills & 12 digs).
Rylie Barnum had 32 digs, while
Chandler Vaughan recorded 19 assists.
Central Missouri had two players make the Springhill Suites All-Tournament Team including Barnum and redshirt junior
Kersti Nix who had 11 kills in the match.
The Jennies are back in action next weekend for the Colorado Premiere Challenge in Denver beginning Friday, September 2
nd with a pair of matches against West Texas A&M and Regis University.
