Scene Setter

• After being idle for two weeks, Central Missouri Jennies softball (0-4) returns to action with four games in Maryville, Mo., Sunday, Feb. 20, and Monday, Feb. 21 against the No. 6 Minnesota State Mavericks and Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. UCM will face the Mavericks Sunday at 1 p.m. before taking on the Bulldogs at 3 p.m. then battle Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota State a second time Monday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• The Jennies are coming off four setbacks in the Arkansas Tech Invitational Feb. 6-7 in Conroe, Texas. Central Missouri fell to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 2-1, No. 15 Oklahoma Christian, 3-2, No. 22 Texas A&M-Commerce, 2-0, and No. 1 UT-Tyler, 8-1.

• Through four games, the Jennies are led offensively by Ashlyn Cook, who is hitting .364 with four hits and two doubles. Cook, Makenzie McAtee, Bailee Bryant and Halle Howes have each driven in a run.

• Minnesota State: The Jennies lead the all-time series with the Mavericks, 12-10. UCM played Minnesota State last season in Edmond, Okla., in the NCAA-II Central Regional, falling to the Mavericks 3-0. 
• Minnesota Duluth: UCM and Minnesota Duluth have only met three times, all-time. The Bulldogs lead the Jennies, 2-1. UCM won the last meeting in 2017, 4-2.

• Susan Anderson is in her 16th season as the head coach for the Jennies softball program. She has a record of 454-323 (.584) in her 16 season in Warrensburg and a career record of 635-495 (.562) in 24 seasons.
