WARRENSBURG, Mo.. -- Ja'Cor Nelson scored 23 points and tallied 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season as the Central Missouri Mules basketball team won an overtime thriller over Nebraska Kearney, 78-76, Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Multipurpose Building.
The Mules (12-11, 9-10 MIAA) are scheduled to take on No. 22 Fort Hays State on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. at the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg for Senior and Hall of Fame Day.
Cameron Hunter scored 17 points on going 4-of-10 shooting performance, including a 2-for-4 showing from three-point range, while
Gaven Pinkley netted 16 points on 8-of-15 shooting with seven rebounds, and four steals. With his 16 points in the contest, Pinkley surpassed 1,000 career points as a Mule. He entered the game just 15 points shy of 1,000 in the Red and Black.
UCM shot 47 percent (30-of-63) from the floor and were 15-of-22 at the free-throw line (68 percent) for the game.
The Lopers (10-15, 6-13 MIAA) outrebounded Central Missouri, 40-34, but the Mules outscored Nebraska Kearney in the paint, 48-34, and off turnovers, 18-15.
David Simental netted a game-best 33 points to lead the Lopers.
