WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Olivia Nelson scored a game-high 19 points, leading No. 11-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 97-52 victory over the William Jewell Cardinals Thursday night, Dec. 29, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies (9-0, 5-0 MIAA) are scheduled to host Fort Hays State (11-3, 6-0 MIAA) in a MIAA contest Saturday afternoon, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Nelson, a redshirt sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., went 8-for-9 from the field, including a 2-of-2 showing from three-point range, and was a perfect 1-of-1 at the free-throw line for her game-best 19 points.
Three other Jennies joined Nelson in double figures, as
Brooke Littrell tallied 16 points and snagged a game-high 10 rebounds for her team-best fourth double-double of the season,
Graycen Holden compiled a season-high 12 points and went a flawless 5-of-5 from the field, and
Ashley Tull posted 10 points and added a team-high two blocks.
Central Missouri shot a sizzling 56 percent from floor during the game, going 35-of-63, and were 8-of-21 from beyond-the-arc for 38 percent. UCM made 19 out of 26 free throws for 73 percent and outrebounded William Jewell (3-12), 46-20.
The Jennies dominated in all facets of the game, outscoring the Cardinals in the paint, 50-26 and off turnovers, 28-6.
Ayden Shannon had 13 points, pacing William Jewell.
