  • No. 17-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball (7-0, 4-0 MIAA) is scheduled to continue MIAA play with a road contest at Pittsburg State (8-2, 4-1 MIAA) Saturday, Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m. inside John Lance Arena in Pittsburg, Kan.
  • Central Missouri is coming off an impressive 73-71 victory over No. 3-ranked Missouri Southern (11-1, 4-1 MIAA) in Joplin, Mo., Tuesday, Dec. 13.
  • Through seven games, the Jennies are paced by redshirt sophomores Brooke Littrell (19 ppg., 8.1 rpg., .559 FG%, .808 FT%, 9 Blk, 12 Stl), Olivia Nelson (11.7 ppg., 2.9 rpg., .500 FG%, .389 3FG%, 35 A, 11 Stl) and Lauren Frost (9.7 ppg., 5.3 rpg., .418 FG%, 31 A, 9 Stl), and junior Ashley Tull (9.7 ppg., 7.6 rpg., .491 FG%, 13 Blk, 9 Stl).
  • As a team, UCM is averaging 80.7 points and 44 rebounds per game and shooting 49.9 percent from the field while holding its opponents to 56.6 points and 31.6 rebounds per game and a 34.7 percent field-goal percentage.
  • The Jennies are fifth in all of NCAA Division II in field-goal percentage through seven games at 49.9 percent. UCM has converted 226 out of 453 shot attempts going into Saturday's game.

  • Brooke Littrell scored 24 points and pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds as the No. 17-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball team held off the No. 3 Missouri Southern Lions, 73-71, Tuesday, Dec. 13, inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
  • Littrell, a redshirt sophomore from Green City, Mo., tallied her second double-double of the season after going 8-of-14 from the floor and 7-of-8 at the free throw line for her 24 points while snagging 14 defensive and two offensive boards for her 16 rebounds.
  • Ashley Tull added 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and a 3-of-4 showing at the foul line. Olivia Nelson dished out six assists and netted nine points, while Lauren Frost added eight points, four assists and seven rebounds, and Kade Hackerott tallied nine points.
  • The Jennies shot 44 percent from the field, going 28-of-63, and were 15-of-20 at the free throw line for 75 percent.
  • Central Missouri owned the glass in the game, outrebounding Missouri Southern, 46-32, and outscored the Lions in the paint, 44-26.
  • UCM used an 11-0 run in the final four minutes of the second quarter to turn a 25-25 tie into 36-15 advantage with five seconds to go in the stanza. The Jennies would never trail again in the game. Nelson got the run going with a layup at the 3:25 mark before Littrell converted back-to-back layups to up the Central Missouri lead to 31-25 with 2:21 remaining. Graycen Holden kept the offensive spurt rolling with a layup at the 1:41 mark, followed by Hackerott making one of two free throws with just under 45 seconds to go. Holden capped the run with a jumper with six seconds on the clock for the 11-point lead.
  • Lacy Stokes paced the Lions for the contest, scoring 31 points.
Last Time Out vs. Pittsburg State
  • Brooke Littrell scored 27 points and Nija Collier picked up her 15th double-double of the season to lead Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 74-54 win over the Pittsburg State Gorillas Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, inside the Multipurpose Building.
  • Littrell posted her 14th game this season with at least 20 points, netting her 27 on 9-for20 shooting from the floor and an 8-of-9 showing at the free-throw line, while Collier tallied 21 points and 18 boards for her team and MIAA-best 15th double-double of 2021-22. Olivia Nelson also reached double figures in the victory with 15 points.
  • Central Missouri shot 42 percent (26-for-62) from the floor and were an impressive 18-of-19 at the free-throw line for 95 percent. The Jennies also outrebounded the Gorillas, 41-30, and outscored Pittsburg State in the paint, 40-32, and on second-chance opportunities, 22-4.
  • Tristan Gegg scored 13 points to lead the Gorillas.
Individual Milestones
  • Brooke Littrell became the 30th student-athlete in UCM Women's Basketball history to score at least 1,000 career points after converting a three-pointer with 6:32 to go in the first quarter in the Jennies' win over Newman Dec. 3.
  • Olivia Nelson is 167 points shy of 1,000 for her Central Missouri career. Going into Saturday's game, she sits at 833 career points.

  • UCM is ranked No. 17 in the most recent WBCA Division II Coaches' Poll and 13th in the latest D2SIDA Division II Media Poll.
  • Central Missouri was picked third in the 2022-23 MIAA Preseason Media Poll and fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. UCM received three first-place votes and 218 points in the media poll and 127 points in the coaches' poll.
