Jennies Turn Back No. 9 Nebraska Kearney Saturday, 58-52

KEARNEY, Neb. – Brooke Littrell scored 22 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds to help Central Missouri Jennies basketball turn back the ninth-ranked and MIAA-leading Nebraska Kearney Lopers, 58-52, Saturday, Jan. 8, inside the Health and Sports Center.

The Jennies (10-6, 6-3 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to the Multipurpose Building for an MIAA contest against Central Oklahoma Thursday, Jan. 13, at 5:30 p.m.

With the win, UCM handed Nebraska Kearney (12-2, 7-1 MIAA) its first home loss of the season and snapped the Lopers' 11-game winning streak.

Littrell, a redshirt freshman from Green City, Mo., went 7-for-15 from the field and 8-for-10 at the free-throw line for her game-high 22 points and picked up her team-high 10th double-double of the season with her 18 boards.

Olivia Nelson added 19 points and dished out four assists, and Nija Collier tallied 13 points with eight rebounds to round out the Central Missouri leaders in the contest.

The Jennies shot 36 percent from the field, going 20-for-55, and 33 percent from three-point range with five makes on 15 attempts. UCM added a 13-of-18 showing at the free-throw line for 72 percent.
Central Missouri was edged in rebounding by Nebraska Kearney, 38-37.

Brooke Carlson netted 19 points, leading the Lopers.

For the game, Nebraska Kearney shot 41 percent (23-for-56) from the floor, 21 percent (3-for-14) from beyond-the-arc and 27 percent at the foul line (3-of-11).
