WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The 22nd-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos outscored the Central Missouri Mules in the second half, 49-29, to help them defeat the Mules, 82-60, Thursday, Jan. 13, inside the Multipurpose Building.
The Mules (7-7, 4-6 MIAA) are slated to return to action with an MIAA road game at Northeastern State Thursday, Jan. 20, in Tahlequah, Okla.
UCM trailed Central Oklahoma at the half, 33-31, before the Bronchos used a 17-0 run from 14:27 to 10:52 in the second half to surge to a 59-39 advantage. The Mules would get no closer than 16 the remainder of the game.
Ja'Cor Nelson scored 14 points on 5-for-11 shooting and a perfect 4-of-4 performance at the free-throw line and had two steals to lead the Mules, while
Koray Gilbert (12 points) and
Mark Mayle (11 points) also reached double figure points in the contest.
Central Missouri shot 35 percent from the field (19-of-55) and were only 3-of-19 from three-point range for 16 percent. UCM did excel at the free-throw line, going an impressive 19-of-19.
The Bronchos (14-2, 9-1 MIAA) shot 56 percent from the floor (31-of-55) and were 12-of-22 from beyond-the-arc for 55 percent. UCO outrebounded UCM, 36-25.
Jaden Wells led three Bronchos in double figures with a game-high 26 points, going 9-of-12 from the field and a blistering 7-for-9 from three-point range.
