Mules Golf Ranked Fifth in Bushnell/Golfweek Preseason Poll

NORMAN, Okla.  – University of Central Missouri Mules golf is ranked fifth in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Preseason Coaches Poll, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Friday, Aug. 27.

The Mules, who won both the MIAA and Central Regional Championships, and advanced to the NCAA-II National Quarterfinals, received 314 points and one first-place vote in the poll.

West Florida claimed the top spot in the poll with 397 points and four first-place votes, while, defending national champion Arkansas Tech was second with 385 points and 10 first-place votes. Last season's national runner-up Georgia Southwestern rounded out the top-three in third with 326 points.

Central Missouri was one of two MIAA men's golf teams ranked in the preseason poll, as Washburn tied for 25th. MIAA members Lincoln and Rogers State both received votes in the poll, respectively.

Mules golf opens the fall 2021 season on the road Sept. 12-14 at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kan., at the Topeka Country Club.
