WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 18, 2021) - Central Missouri Mules Baseball were challenged for the first six innings, against Central Oklahoma before pulling away late to complete the series sweep. With their 7-1 win, the Mules extend their winning streak to 22 straight games and improve to 27-4, 23-1 in the MIAA. 
How it Happened
• The Mules pitching was lights out allowing just one run on five hits and struck out 12.
• Central Missouri totaled 10 hits.
• UCM had chances early and ended up leaving eight runners on base.
• Central Missouri scored five of their seven runs in the seventh and eighth innings. 
• The first two Mule runs were both courtesy of 
Dusty Stroup. Stroup homered in his first at bat, a solo home run for a 1-0 Mule lead after one.
• Stroup made it 2-0 doubling home 
Erik Webb who led off the fourth getting hit by a pitch.
• The score remained 2-0 through six innings as Mule starter 
Conor Dryer threw six scoreless innings.
• UCO cut the lead in half with a sacrifice fly in the top half of the seventh. 
• The seventh and eighth is when UCM pulled away. 
Donovan Ditto and 
Micah Evans each had RBI hits and Ditto scored on a wild pitch as the Mules led 5-1 after seven.
• The Mules made it 7-1 in the eighth as 
Scott Wolverton singled to score 
Harrison Schnurbusch and 
Josh Schumacher capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.
Mules Stat Leaders
• 
Conor Dryer did most of the work for UCM on the hill. He threw six shutout innings allowing just three hits and struck out seven.
• 
Dusty Stroup finished a triple shy of the cycle with a single, double, home run and two RBI.
• 
Donovan Ditto collected two hits and scored twice.
• 
Harrison Schnurbusch doubled and scored twice.
For the Bronchos
• Brayden Nelson pitched the first four innings allowing two runs on two hits.
• Kyle Crowl finished 2-4 with a run scored.
• Bennett Laurence had the Bronchos only RBI.
News and Notes
• The Mules 22 game winning streak is now tied for the second longest winning streak in team history. The only longer streak was 27 straight in 1996.
• UCM pitchers allowed just three runs all series in 25 innings for a 1.08 team ERA.
• The Mule defense did not commit an error all series and have played error free baseball for six straight games.
• Central Missouri crushed left-handed pitching in the series going 11-21 against southpaws.
• The Mules have now won six straight over Central Oklahoma.
