BELLEVILLE, Ill. (March 20, 2021) - Central Missouri Jennies Bowling suffered their first loss in the double-elimination tournament of the inaugural GLVC Championship. The Jennies fell to No. 1 seed, and the number one team in the country, McKendree 2-0 in the mega-match format.
By going 2-0 on day one, the Jennies earned a bye in round three and moved right into round four Saturday. That set up a date with the also unbeaten McKendree Bearcats.
Game one was a traditional match that saw the Bearcats defeat UCM 1040-943.
Jacqueline Garcia-Ulloa led the Jennies scoring 215 in the game.Â
Needing to win the Baker Format game to force a third, bracket-style game, the Jennies couldn't overcome McKendree as the Bearcats won the game and the mega-match 2-0 with an 1166-866 win in the Baker format.Â
The Jennies are still alive in the GLVC Tournament. They'll play in round five tomorrow in a win-or-go-home match against No. 2 seed Maryville which begins at 8:30 a.m. The winner of that match will then need to defeat McKendree twice otherwise the Bearcats will be the conference champions.Â
