WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Feb. 13, 2021) - It wasn't easy, but Central Missouri found a way picking up their ninth straight win, 62-56 over Washburn. Washburn matched or outscored the Jennies in three of the four quarters, but a big second-quarter was enough to to carry the Jennies to victory.

How it Happened
• The Ichabods held a narrow shooting edge over UCM both overall, 44% to 43%, and from three, 45.5% to 43%. Central Missouri though took advantage of their trips to the free throw line hitting 9-of-11 while Washburn was just 9-for-16.

• The Jennies bench provided a nice spark scoring 21 points while the Ichabod starters accounted for 47 of their 56 points.
• It was all Washburn at the start as they jumped out to an 8-0 lead. Central Missouri didn't get on the board until the 5:45 mark when Kade Hackerott grabbed an offensive rebound and put back a layup.
• The Jennies chipped away at the lead, tying it late in the first on a Nija Collier three with less than a minute to play. After 10 minutes we were knotted up at 14-all.
• Olivia Nelson gave UCM their first lead to start the second. She took a feed from Morgan VanHyfte after VanHyfte started a two-on-one with a steal. The Jennies scored the first seven points in the second and used a 9-0 run to build a 21-14 lead.
• Following the media timeout midway through the frame, Charley Bovaird and Kade Hackerott hit back-to-back threes and put UCM up 11, 27-16, with three minutes to go in the half. The lead stayed at 11, 31-20, heading into the break as Nelson drove to the basket for a layup with under 10 seconds to play.
• Coming out of the half, the Jennies pushed their lead to a high of 15, 35-20. Washburn though brought it back under 10, getting it down to five, 45-40 late in the third. At the buzzer through, Kade Hackerott found Graycen Holden under the basket for a wide open layup putting the Jens up seven, 47-40 heading to the fourth.
• A three from Nija Collier put the Jennies back up 10, 52-42. She went 3-4 from three for the game.
• Washburn didn't go away and brought the lead down to four, 54-50, with three and a half minutes left to play. Gigi McAtee hit a big three making it a 57-50 game, and Collier with a steal got fouled and put away two free throws for a 59-50 lead.
