WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 1-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball saw its 2021 season come to an end after falling to sixth-ranked Washburn, 3-1, in the semifinals of the NCAA-II Central Region tournament Friday, Dec. 3, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building. The set scores were 25-14, 11-25, 25-27 and 18-25.
The Jennies (29-4) end their season as MIAA regular season and tournament champions.
Redshirt senior
Audrey Fisher posted 12 kills and eight blocks, while fellow redshirt senior
Ally Offerdahl had 36 assists and a pair of blocks, leading UCM.
Rylie Barnum added 23 digs, and redshirt junior
Hannah Engelken tallied 11 kills and five blocks, respectively.
UCM was outhit in the match by Washburn (28-5), .142 to .096. The Jennies posted a 13-10 advantage in blocks, but the Ichabods bested UCM in kills (53-43), assists (48-41) and digs (82-80).
Genna Berg had 19 kills and five blocks, and Allison Sadler tallied 47 assists, leading Washburn.
The Ichabods will face No. 15 Concordia-St. Paul in the Central Region Championship match Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
