Jennies Volleyball Enters MIAA Volleyball Championship as Top Seed

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After winning their 25th MIAA regular season championship, No. 4 University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball is slated to host No. 8 seed Missouri Western in the quarterfinals of the 2021 MIAA Volleyball Championship Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. inside the UCM Multipurpose Building.

The top-seeded Jennies enter the tournament at 25-3 overall and will take on the eighth-seeded Griffons, who are 14-15 on the season entering tournament action.

Central Missouri and Missouri Western met twice during the 2021 regular season, with the Jennies sweeping the Griffons at home, 3-0, in Warrensburg Sept. 14 before winning in five sets, 3-2, on the road in St. Joseph, Mo., Oct. 19.

In postseason play, UCM is 5-1 all-time against Missouri Western.

2021 MIAA Volleyball Championship – Quarterfinal Matches, Locations, Times:
No. 1 Central Missouri hosts No. 8 Missouri Western – Warrensburg, Mo. – Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
No. 4 Nebraska Kearney hosts No. 5 Central Oklahoma – Kearney, Neb. – Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.
No. 2 Northwest Missouri hosts No. 7 Fort Hays State – Maryville, Mo. – Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.
No. 3 Washburn hosts No. 6 Pittsburg State – Topeka, Kan. – Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.

All quarterfinal matches will be available on The MIAA Network. The winners of the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 16, will advance the semifinals on Friday, November 19. The site of the semifinal and championship matches will be played at the highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals.
