CANYON, Texas – Brooke Littrell scored a career-high 21 points and
Nija Collier posted her second consecutive double-double with 18 points and a career-best 18 rebounds, but it wasn't enough, as the University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball team fell to SWOSU, 86-80, in game two of the D2CCA Tipoff Classic Saturday, Oct. 30, at the First United Bank Center.
The Jennies (1-1) will wrap up play in the event with an 11 a.m. contest Sunday, Oct. 31, against Drury (2-0).
Littrell, a redshirt freshman from Green City, Mo., netted her career-best 21 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field and a 6-of-7 performance at the free-throw line while Collier, a redshirt senior from Roseville, Mich., tallied her 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and a perfect 2-of-2 showing at the foul line.
Olivia Nelson also reached double figures for the second straight game, scoring 14 points on 6-for-12 shooting.
Central Missouri outshot SWOSU (1-1) from the floor, 46 percent (29-of-63) to 44 percent (30-of-68) but were just 7-for-25 from three-point range (28 percent) compared to 57 percent for the Bulldogs (16-of-28).
UCM also controlled the boards, outrebounding SWOSU, 40-34, but lost the turnover battle, 16-14.
Makyra Tramble scored a game-high 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including a 6-of-9 performance from downtown.
