INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 8, 2020) - Central Missouri Mules Wrestling suffered three losses on Saturday while competing in the Indianapolis Greyhound Duals.
The Mules suffered a 34-15 loss to No. 8 Tiffin in their opening dual of the day.
John Feeney and
Zachary Hazen each scored six points for the Mules with fall victories. At 133 pounds, Feeney pinned Richetshaye Puente in 3:40 while Hazen earned the Mules fasted fall of the day, pinning Nicolas Smythe in 2:02 at 197 pounds.
Conner Dalton also accounted for the Mules total points against the Dragons with a 3-1 dicision victory over Dylan Mansor at 141 pounds.
Taking on their second top-10 team of the day, Central Missouri fell to No. 2 McKendree 44-0. Six of the Bearcats wrestlers are individually ranked in the top-10 in Division II, including their top-ranked 165 pounder Nick Foster who defeated
John Ridle in a 9-0 major decision, and their top-ranked 197 pounder who earned a 20-4 technical fall victory over Hazen.
Four Mules totaled 18 points in Central Missouri's 34-18 loss to Bellamine in their final dual of the day. Feeney earned a 9-2 decision victory over Zach Larue at 133 pounds to finish 2-1 at the duals.
Dakota Thevel picked up his first victory of the duals against the Knights, pinning Mitch Collica in 3:21. Also winning going 2-1 in the duals was Hazen. The sophomore transfer defeated Bellamine's Charlie Cadell in a 15-0 technical fall win at 197 pounds. The Mules final point scorer was
Chase Miller with a 9-1 major decision win in the heavyweight match.
Mules Wrestling returns to action on Friday, Feb. 14 in an MIAA dual against Newman. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Wichita, Kansas.
