Jennies Rout Blue Tigers in Home Finale

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Feb. 18, 2020) - Central Missouri finished off their home slate in style with a decisive 74-45 win over Lincoln. The win moves UCM to 21-4 and 15-1 in the MIAA this season. They finish their home schedule at a perfect 13-0. 

How it Happened
• The Jennies got off to a hot start both offensively and defensively. They were 15-32 in the first half from the floor and allowed just 18 points.
• UCM won all phases of the game, outshooting the Blue Tigers 40%-32%, outrebounding them 48-30 and taking away 24 steals.
• Central Missouri had their way on the boards with 20 offensive rebounds and scored 11 second-chance points.
• The Jens turned those 24 turnovers into 29 points and scored 14 in transition.
• UCM put on a passing display dishing out 19 assists on 26 made baskets.
• Central Missouri scored the first 10 points in the game and led the entire way. Skaggs started it off for the Jens with six of UCM's first 10 points.
• The lead hovered around 10 until the Jennies started to pull away in the second quarter. UCM went on a 15-2 midway through the second turning a seven-point lead into a 20-point lead, 33-13. 
• The Jens shot 50% in the second scoring 25 points and after a three from Fleming on their final possession, led 43-18 at the half. 
• Lincoln was never able to get back to within 20 in the second half. Fleming and Skaggs each hit threes in the third quarter and UCM led by as much as 31.
• Late in the game the Jennies emptied their bench and threes by Sydnee Schovanec and Madison Cook gave the Jens their largest lead, up 32, before going on to win by 29, 74-45.

It Was Over When...
• The Jennies went on a 15-2 run in the second quarter turning a seven-point lead into a 20-point lead. Fleming scored five during the stretch and Ryann Stearns hit a three before Kim Crown sank a pair of free throws to give the Jennies a 20-point cushion.

Jennies Stat Leaders
Megan Skaggs led UCM scoring 18 and was a rebound shy of a double-double with nine. She also took away five steals.
Morgan Fleming chipped in 17 points with three three-pointers and four assists.
Nija Collier scored nine with a game-high 14 rebounds, eight of them offensive. 
Kim Crown added eight points and five rebounds while Ryann Stearns scored seven.
Morgan VanHyfte scored four points, had five rebounds, three assists and four steals.

For the Blue Tigers
• Natasha Elliott led the team scoring 14 points going 3-6 from three.
• Kaloni Pryear added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
• Natasha Dolinsky chipped in seven points off the bench.

News and Notes
• The Jennies finish the year 13-0 at home. It is just the fifth time they have been unbeaten at the Multipurpose Building, last doing so in 2013-13. 
• UCM held the Blue Tigers to just nine points in both the first and second quarters. The Jennies are 10-1 this season when an opponent scores less than 10 points in a quarter and 52-5 since 2016-17.
• This is also the 16th time in 25 games the Jennies have held an opponent below 60 points in a game. 
Megan Skaggs went over 1600 career points, just the seventh Jennie to ever reach that figure. Her five steals also match a career-high done earlier this season. 
• This is also the 100th win for four-year seniors Skaggs and Morgan Fleming. Skaggs has played in all 100 wins. 
• The Jennies 18 steals are a season-high.

• The Jennies start a three-game road trip Thursday in Topeka, Kan. against Washburn. Tip off is 5:30 p.m. on the 20th.
