CLAREMORE, Okla. (Jan. 23, 2020) - History was made Thursday evening in Claremore, Okla. With the Jennies 86-44 win over Rogers State, the Jennies become just the fifth NCAA Division II women's basketball program to record 1,000 wins. The Jennies join Bentley, Delta State, Western Washington and Cal Poly-Pomona.
Not only was the Jennies win their 1,000th as a program, it's their 11th straight this season. With the win, UCM improves to 14-3 and 8-0 in the MIAA. The Jens scored on their opening possession and never trailed.Â
How it Happened
• UCM had a tremendous day shooting the ball going 38-67 for 56.7%. Rogers was just 17-61, 27.8%.
• Of the Jennies' 38 made baskets, they assisted on 27 of them.
• The Jens also hit nine three-pointers to the Hillcats one.
• Neither team attempted more than nine free throws. RSU was 8-9 while UCM was just 1-4.
• UCM had a big advantage on the glass, 48-27 in rebounding with 11 offensive rebounds. They scored 17 second chance points and dominated the paint scoring 54 points.
• The Jennies committed one more turnover than the Hillcats, 15-14, but scored 21 points off to turnovers to RSU's 12.Â
• The Jennies got off to another fast start in the opening quarter. After a
Morgan VanHyfte three, the Jennies led 9-2. They upped that lead to 18-9 at the media timeout and finished the quarter on an 8-0 run for a 26-9 lead after one quarter of play.
• UCM got up by as much as 22, 35-13, before the Hillcats made a little run. They scored nine straight to cut the lead down to 35-22.
Nija Collier ended that with a layup and in the final 1:47, the Jennies scored six straight for a 41-22 lead at the break. Skaggs with a jumper at the buzzer gave her 18 for the half. Collier with 10 rebounds and eight points in the first 20 minutes.
• The Jens padded their lead in the third scoring 28 points. The Jens scored 14 straight at one point pushing their lead past 30.
Ryann Stearns knocked in back-to-back threes for a 67-28 lead and the Jens led 69-32 heading to the final quarter. The Jennies were 12-14 in the frame.
• With the outcome in hand, the only question going into the fourth was 'What will the final score be?' Skaggs got her 30th point before the media timeout as the Jens went up 40, 76-36.
Madison Cook scored six points in the closing minutes to get the Jens over 80 to 86 points and an 86-44 win.
It Was Over When...
• The Jennies closed the first half on a 6-0 run. Rogers State worked hard to score nine straight to keep things close midway through the second, but UCM rattled off six straight in the final 1:47, including a buzzer-beating field goal from Skaggs to lead by 19 at the half.

Megan Skaggs had her second 30-point game of the season. She scored 30 in 31 minutes going 13-16 and 3-4 from three.

Nija Collier picked up a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

• For the eighth time in 2019, the Jennies held an opponent to fewer than 10 points in a quarter as the Hillcats scored just nine in the first. They are 7-1 when doing so this season and 49-5 dating back to 2016-17.
• The Hillcats went 1-17 from three with their first and only coming with 1:44 left in the game.

• The Jennies 27 assists are a season-high.
• UCM shot 37.5% from three, their best percentage this season. Their nine threes match a season-high.Â
• For the eighth time in nine games, UCM has grabbed at least 40 rebounds. Their +21 in rebounding tonight was their second-highest this season and the highest in an MIAA contest.Â
• The 86 points are the most they've scored in an MIAA game this season, while the 44 allowed match the fewest allowed this season.
• For the 14th time in 17 games, the Jennies held their opponent to 60 points or less.
• 10 different Jennies scored in the game.

Camryn Swanson scored her first career points with a layup in the fourth quarter.

Madison Cook's six points are a career-best as are her six rebounds.
• In their last three games, UCM has outscored their opponents by 96 points.Â
