Mules Add More All-American Awards

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Jan. 2, 2020) - Central Missouri Mules Football started the new year taking home more All-American awards. D2football.com released their 2019 All-American awards with three Mules making the squad.

Zach Davidson was chosen to the First Team. The junior tight ends has earned four First Team All-American awards following his 2019 campaign. He also earned an All-American award in 2018, bringing his career total to five. Davidson finished the year with 40 catches for 894 yards and 15 touchdowns. He finished seventh the NCAA top-10 in yards per reception at 22.35 yards per catch. His 15 receiving touchdowns were also seventh in the NCAA and are second all-time for a single-season in Mules history. Davidson caught four touchdown passes against Missouri Southern, tying a Mules single-game record. In 13 games, Davidson eclipsed 100 yards three times and caught a touchdown in nine games. 

Quarterback Brook Bolles made the D2Football.com Honorable Mention Team. This is his fourth All-American award this season and sixth of his career, joining two he earned in 2017. Bolles was already the first Mules quarterback to earn All-American awards in more than one season. He was this season's MIAA and D2CCA Regional Offensive Player of the Year.  Bolles threw for 4,290 yards this season completing 235-of-419 passes with 42 touchdown passes. He finished second in the NCAA in passing touchdowns and third in passing yards. Those numbers put him second all-time in Mules history for a single season. Bolles also added 228 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. His 18.26 yards per completion led the nation and his 347.5 yards of total offense per game ranked third in the country. In 12 games Bolles threw for more than 200 yards 11 times, he surpassed 300 yards in eight games and 400 yards in three. He set a new UCM record throwing for 506 yards in the Mules win at Missouri Western, the first 500-yard passing game in team history.

Earning his second career All-American award is Shae Wyatt. The sophomore wide receiver joins his quarterback on the Honorable Mention Team. Wyatt caught 65 passes for 1,452 yards and 12 touchdowns, all of which are in the top-five for a single season in Mules history. Wyatt finished fourth in Division II in receiving yards and was just seven yards shy of setting a new single-season school record. Wyatt averaged 22.34 yards per catch which was eighth in Division II, one place and .01 yards behind Davidson. Wyatt surpassed 100 receiving yards in eight of 12 games with a high of 226 coming at Emporia State, the third most in a game in team history. He caught a touchdown pass in nine games and had four games with two touchdowns.

D2football.com also released their year-end team rankings. The Mules checked in at No. 12.
