LEBANON, Ill. (March 2, 2019) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball finished up their six game in three day trip to Illinois by splitting a doubleheader with McKendree. The Jennies dropped game one 8-2, before earning a split with a 6-4 win in game two. The split puts UCM at 8-6 overall this season.
Game Two - Central Missouri 6, McKendree 4
Play-by-Play
• After both teams went down in order in the first,
Jessica Sader got the Jens on the board in the second with a run scoring single following
Makenzie McAtee's leadoff double.
• The Jens scored twice in the fourth on a two-out rally. Sader got it started with a single before
Alexis Koop moved her to third with a double.
Taylor Dames drove them both in when she poked a single and it was 3-0 UCM.
• In the bottom of the inning, McKendree responded with three of their own. A double to left scored their first run, and a two-out, two RBI single to center tied the game at three.
• No issue though for the Jens as
Lauryn Deer knocked a one out single to left in the fifth and
Ashlyn Cook put UCM back in front with a two-run homer.
• The Beracats got a run back with a double in the sixth, but UCM added an insurance run in the seventh as
Hailey Crabtree's single brought in Cook.Â
• McKendree got the tying run to the plate in their final at bat, but a fly ball ended the game.
Jennies Stat Leaders
•
Jessica Sader reached base all four times with two hits and two walks. She scored a run and drove one in.
•
Ashlyn Cook delivered a home run and was 1-3 with two RBI and two runs.
•
Taylor Dames knocked in two runs and reached base with a single and a walk.
•
Lauryn Deer was 1-4 with a single, stolen base and a run scored.
•
Alexa Bradley tossed the first 5.2 innings to get the win. She struck out five allowing four runs on eight hits.

Sarah Brown pitched the final 1.1 hitless innings in relief.
For the Bearcats
• Jenny Homann was 2-3 wtih a single, double and an RBI.
• Konnor Arrowood went 2-2 with two RBI.
• Haegen Boyer scored twice and was 1-3.
• Kylee Silliman started and pitched the first 4.1 innings giving up five runs on eight hits.
• Hannah Murphy and Arrowood allowed an unearned run in 2.2 innings out of the bullpen.Â

Play-by-Play
• McKendree scored in the first inning as the first two runners reached base and scored.
• The Jens responded to tie with two in the top of the second.
Jessica Sader and
Taylor Dames both doubled to drive in a run and it was 2-2 after two innings.
• But the Bearcats reclaimed a 3-2 lead in the third on a one-out solo hole run and a two-run shot in the fifth made it 5-2 Bearcats.
• McKendree put another three-spot on the board in the sixth getting a two-RBI single and executing a double steal with a runner crossing the plate.
• Central Missouri had just one base runner over the final five innings and fell 8-2.Â

Jessica Sader finished 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
•
Taylor Dames also collected two hits and an RBI.
•
Jordan Johnson started and threw the first four innings. She gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits.

Amolee Hawkins finished the game allowing three runs on seven hits.
For the Bearcats
• Shelby Summer went 2-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
• Whitney Boschert also drove in three runs on two hits with a home run.
• Caitlyn Lowry was 3-4 with three runs scored.
• Jenny Homann and A. Bailey were each 2-3.
• Miranda Gajewski threw a complete game allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
News and Notes
• The Jennies struck out just four times combined in the two games.
• UCM went 4-2 in their six games this weekend in Illinois.
• The Jens hit .444 today with runners on base and .462 with a runner in scoring position.

Jessica Sader had four hits in five at bats. She moved her hitting streak to 10 games.

Hailey Crabtree has successfully reached base in each of her last 12 games.
