Jennes Shutout CSP and Advance to Central Region Final

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Nov. 24, 2019) - Second-seeded Central Missouri Soccer shutout the No. 3 seed Concordia-St. Paul 2-0 in the Jennies final home match of the 2019 season. With the victory over the Golden Bears, Central Missouri advances to the Central Region Championship where they will face the top-seeded Mavericks of Minnesota State. 

How it Happened:
• Central Missouri dominated the first half possession against the Golden Bears, scoring two goals within the first 25 minutes of the match. 
Kassie Newsom scored the first goal of the match in the 13th minute, assisted by Nayeli Gallo
• Moments later in the 22nd minute, Emily Kramer connected with Makayla Toth inside the Golden Bear's box to take the 2-0 advantage. 
• The Jennies out shot Concordia-St. Paul 4-1 in the first half, then only recorded one shot to the Golden Bears three in the second half. 
• All four of Concordia's shots were on goal. Four of the Jens five total shots fell on goal. 

Leading the Jennies:
• Newsom and Toth led the Jens offense against the Golden Bears with one goal each. Newsom's goal was her eighth of the season while Toth's goal in the 22nd minute was her 18th of the season. 
• Gallo and Kramer each recorded an assist on the Jens goals. Kramer's assist was the freshman defender's first of the season while Gallo's assist was her third on the year. 
• Kramer is leading the Jens offense in the regional tournament with two goals and an assist.  
• Newsom lead the UCM attack with two shots. Toth, Kramer and Haley Freeman each accounted for one shot on goal for the Jennies. 
• Jennies goalkeeper Lindsey Johnson recorded four saves in goal. 

For the Golden Bears:
• Leah Johnson, Emily Boyer, Kiara Myers and Cayla Renwich were each responsible for Concordia's four shots, all falling on goal. 
• Golden Bears keeper Jordyn Clark recorded two saves while allowing two goals scored. 

News & Notes:
• This was Concordia's first ever appearance in the NCAA Central Region Tournament, finishing with a record of 1-1. 
• The 2019 NSIC regular season champions end their season with a record of 17-3-3. 
• With another win, the Jennies increase their all-time record in the NCAA tournament to 18-8-3.
