TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Oct. 4, 2019) - No. 7 Central Missouri Soccer picked up their second league win Friday night on the road, defeating Northeastern State 3-1.
How it Happened:Â

Makayla Toth score the first goal of the match in the 18th minute off a pass from
Haley Freeman.
• Both the Jennies and the RiverHawks went into the half with five shots, three falling on goal.Â
• NSU's lone goal of the match was scored in the first three minutes of the second half off a deflection from Jennies keeper
Lindsey Johnson.Â
• Tied 1-1,
Lindsay Edmonds answered the RiverHawks, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 52nd minute off another Freeman assist.Â
• In the 59th minute, Toth scored her second goal of the match, this time being assisted by
Kassie Newsom.Â
• The Jennies out-shot NSU 14-13 with each team finishing with seven shots on goal.Â
Leading the Jennies:
• Toth's two goals lead the UCM offense. Toth was also .1000 on the night as she finished with four shots, all falling on goal.Â
• The Jennies freshman defended Edmonds finished with one goal and two shots.
• Freeman and Newsom accounted for the Jennies assists, led by Freeman with two.Â
• Newsom also recorded four shots against the RiverHawks, two of which fell on goal.Â
For the RiverHawks:
• Sarah Rector scored NSU's only goal of the match. The goal is her second of the season.
• Meagan Chase lead the RiverHawks with two shots, each falling on goal.Â
News and Notes:
• With two more goals, Toth now has nine on the season. The junior forward is UCM's leading scoring and is tied for second in the MIAA for most goals scored.
• Now leading the MIAA in assists, Freeman has eight on the season and has recorded an assist in the Jens last four matches. This was also Freeman's second-consecutive match recording two assists.Â
• The MIAA Goalie of the Week, Johnson, finished with a season-high of six saves protecting the goal for the Jennies.Â
• UCM is now on a six-game win streak and ranks second in the league with 27 goals.Â

The seventh-ranked Jennies stay in Oklahoma to face Rogers State on Sunday, Oct. 6. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.Â
