KEARNEY, Neb. (Oct 20, 2019) - The fifth-ranked Jennies earned their fifth shutout of the season in 2-0 victory over Nebraska-Kearney on the road.
How it Happened:
• Of the UCM's eight first-half shots, six fell on goal.
• The Jennies and the Lopers finished the first 45 minutes in a draw, with UCM outshooting UNK 8-1.
• In the 75th minute, the MIAA's offensive leader
Makayla Toth took connected with
Kassie Newsom to give the Jennies the 1-0 advantage.
• Within the next 10 minutes,
Kelsey Mueller found
Makayla Martin inside the 18 for another UCM goal.
• The remaining seven minutes of the match went scoreless.
• Of the Jennies 15 shots, 12 of them were on goal.
Jennies Leaders:
• Newsom's goal against the Lopers was her sixth of the season.
• Martin's goal was her first of the season and the third of her career.
• Leading the Jennies attack was
Haley Freeman with three shots on goal, four total.

For the Lopers:
• Molly Willis was responsible for two of UNK's three shots on goal.
• Lopers keeper Emily Thuss recorded seven saves.

• With six goals on the seaosn, Newsome ranks sixth in the MIAA for most goals scored and is tied fourth with with assists.
• After scoring her first goal of the season today, Martin joins nine other Jennies who have scored one or more goals this year.
