WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Sept. 18, 2018) - No. 13 Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball returned home Tuesday evening and swept Lindenwood three sets to none (25-15, 25-19, 25-22). The Jens improve to 11-3 on the season and 2-1 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• The Jens hit .276 for the match to the Lions .170. UCM committed only 11 attack errors all night and landed seven blocks to the Lions three.
• Lindenwood had trouble getting the ball over the net, giving up nine points on service errors.
• UCM had a sideout percentage of 74% for the entire game and was over 70% in all three sets.
• A kill from
Kylie Hohlen gave the Jens a 4-3 lead in set 1 and they never looked back. That lead extended out to 10-5 after a kill from
Hannah Engelken. The Lions kept it close for a bit, trailing just 18-14, but the Jennies outscored Lindenwood 7-1 down the stretch and took a 1-0 lead with a 25-15 set one win. UCM hit .333 for the match with 14 kills and two errors.
• Central Missouri never trailed in set two, but the Lions didn't go away easily. The Jennies led by as many as seven, 20-13, but the Lions cut it to three, 21-18.
Hannah VanBuskirk and
Rylee Neigenfind took it upon themselves to end the set though with VanBuskirk landing two kills and Neigenfind a solo block to end it at 25-19.
• The third set saw eight ties and three lead changes and was the closest of the three. The Lions led by as many as three, 10-7 before a 6-2 Jennies run gave UCM the lead back, 13-12. UCM never trailed again and
Ally Offerdahl ended the match with her third kill. She passed out 14 assists on UCM's 18 kills in the frame.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Kylie Hohlen was the only Jennies in double-figure kills. She led the team with 11. She also had six digs.

Ally Offerdahl passed out 32 assists and helped out with eight digs and a block.

Audrey Fisher scored a game-high 12.5 points with nine kills and four blocks. She also hit .412 for the match.

Hannah VanBuskirk and
Hannah Engelken each had seven kills.
•
Abby Skrastins had a game-high 13 digs.
For the Lions
• Sadie Koscuik and Alexa Pressley each had a team-best 10 kills.
• Allyson Clancy handed out a game-best 33 assists.
• Sara Wagenknecht led the Lions with 13 digs and Jenna Garrett had 11.

• The win improves the Jennies to 5-0 at home this season.
• The Jennies celebrated Childhood Cancer Awareness Night. Warrensburg High School Senior Gabby Shull was honored with an honorary uniform and shadow box.
