JOPLIN, Mo. (Sept. 15, 2018)-- Mules and Jennies Cross Country wrapped up at the Missouri Southern Stampede earlier today in Joplin,Missouri. The Mules finished 13th out of 27 teams, and the Jennies finished 20th out of 34 teams.
Amy Marx was the Jens top finisher in the 5K race, placing 27th out of 322 runners with a time of 18:27.6, and improving her 5k time from last week.
Mariah Elmore was the next finisher for the Jennies coming in 43rd place, also improving her 5k time from last week with a time of 18:52.4. Freshman
Sami Skibell came in at 153rd with a time of 20:15.5,
Maria Wendell finished 81st running a time of 20:36.7. Freshman
Hannah Rodina finished shortly after placing 183rd running a time of 20:40.1. The Jennies finished with a total of 525 points, and finished 20th as a team.
Tulsa was the top team at the meet with a total of 33 points. Tulsa also had the top two individual finishers in Reagan Hausmann who ran a time of 17:26.5, and Caitlin Klopfer who ran 17:33.0.
For the Mules,
Nick Victor was the top finisher in the 7k race. Victor placed 18th out of 277 runners and running a time of 25:44.3.
Ryan Skopec was the next Mule to cross the line in 26:57.2 coming in 60th place. Freshman
Alex Kirk finished in 89th place with a time of 27:30.5. Issac Calvert finished in 27:53.6, placing 115th. The Mules finished with 361 points and finished 13th as a team.
Tulsa was also the top finisher as a team on the men's side with 59 points. Jacob Klemz, from Wasburn was the top individual finisher with a time of 24:45.4 on 8K the course.
Central Missouri's next meet is set for Saturday, Sept. 29 in Lawrence, Kan. at the University of Kansas and the gun will go off at 9:00 A.M.
