BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Feb. 8, 2018) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball took to the field for two Thursday afternoon in Bentonville, Ark. These are the games that were originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10. UCM split two games which puts them at 4-4 this season.
Game One: Central Missouri 12, Arkansas-Monticello 0 - Six Innings
Play by Play
• This one was all Central Missouri from the get go. They scored three runs in each of the first two innings.

Kaitlyn Markin got the scoring going with a two-out, two-run double. One batter later, it was
Emily King who drove in Markin with a single.
• After a clean first, the Jens put up another three spot in the top of the second. An
Aubrey Daniel sacrifice fly scored
Alexis Koop and then
Allie Dishinger knocked in
Taylor Dames and
Lauryn Deer with a double.
• Working with a lead,
Sarah Brown made quick work of the Blossoms. Only once did UAM get more than one runner on base in an inning.
• The Jennies were held scoreless until a six-run sixth inning.
• Dishinger plated Deer with an RBI fielder's choice and then King picked up RBI's two and three in the game with a single. Markin also came around to score from first on the play when the ball was misplayed in the outfield.
• UCM wasn't done there and an error allowed King to cross the plate, and Deer capped the scoring with an RBI single.
• Brown shut the door with a 1-2-3 sixth, getting three flyouts, all to centerfielder
Courtni Smith.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Five Jennies collected two or more hits.
Emily King,
Brie Murray and
Lauryn Deer each had three. King had three RBI and scored a run.

Allie Dishinger also knocked in three runs and scored two more, going 2-4 for the game.

Lauryn Deer singled three times, scored twice and drove in a run.
•
Kaitlyn Markin was 1-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Sarah Brown was terrific in the circle allowing just five baserunners all game. She threw all six innings giving up four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.
For the Blossoms
• Jordan Herbner tallied two of the Blossoms four hits.
• Both pitchers, Abigail Leonards and Mallory McWhortey allowed six runs, three of McWhortey's were unearned.
Game Two: Northwest Missouri 12, Central Missouri 3 - Five Innings
• After an offensive explosion in game one, the bats were quiet in game two. UCM didn't have a baserunner in the first two innings, while the Bearcats put up a crooked number in each.
• NWMSU got the scoring started with a three-run home run from Erin Keeney in the first inning.
• They added another two an inning later on Rebecca Maher's two-RBI single.
• The Jennies got on the board in the third scoring an unearned run.
• An inning later, they got closer scoring two more as
Alexis Koop drove in two with a bases-loaded single. The Jennies could have been set up for a big inning, but
Brie Murray was thrown out advancing on Koop's single, and
Lauryn Deer grounded out to end the inning.
• That was all the scoring for the Jennies, but Northwest wasn't done. Another three-run home run, this time from Kaitlyn Weis in the fourth inning made it 8-3.
• NWMSU picked up four more in the fifth. The final blow was Erin Keeney's second three-run home run of the ball game.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• UCM had 18 hits in game one, but one three in game two. Koop had two of those three hits going 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored.
• King had the Jennies only other hit.
• Markin and pinch-runner
Brenlyn McCoy scored the other Jennies runs.

Shelby Clark started and gave up three runs on two hits in an inning of work with two walks.

Jordan Johnson threw the next 3.1 innings and surrendered nine runs and nine hits with three walks and a strikeout.
For the Bearcats
• Keeney did the most damage going 2-3 with two home runs and six RBI.
• Kaitlyn Weis went 1-2 with a home run, two walks, three RBI and three runs.
• Rebecca Maher finished 2-2 with two RBI and three runs scored.
• Rachel Smith threw all four innings and gave up three runs on three hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.
News and Notes
• The 18 hits the Jennies picked up against Arkansas-Monticello are most in a game since March 20, 2016.

Makayla Schoonover's double in the first inning of game one was the third of her career.
• All nine Jennies starters against Arkansas-Monticello got a hit and scored a run.
• 10 different Jennies picked up a hit against the Blossoms.
• The last Jennies shutout came March 25, 2017 against Fort Hays State. It was one of just three shutout wins for the Jennies last season.
• Continuing their strong defense, the Jennies had only one error in two games.
• UCM has now played two games on four different days this season and have gone 1-1 each day.
• The top four spots in the Bearcat batting order went a combined 7-12 with 10 runs and 11 RBI.

• The Jennies will have two more in Bentonville, Ark. They're back in action tomorrow morning for a 10 a.m. start time against Arkansas Tech. They'll finish up with a game against No. 12 Harding at 2 p.m.
