Jennies Down Augustana in First Round of NCAA Tournament

BEMIDJI, Mn. (Nov. 9, 2018) - No. 3 seeded Central Missouri Soccer made their 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament earlier today in Minnesota defeating the No. 6 seeded Augustana (SD) 3-1 in a blanket of snow.

How it Happened
•  The Jens were tested in this matchup playing in the snowy conditions in Bemidji, Minnesota but they did not let the cold affect them.
• In the 24th minute of play, senior Jada Scott put UCM on the board after a penalty kick to give them a 1-0 lead.
• With the snow coming down hard in the 35th minute, Makayla Toth wasn't phased, when she found Jada Scott for another Jennies goal. 2-0
• Just a few minutes later in the 37th minute, Augustana responded with a goal from Alexis Legg. 
• It was over in the 75th minute, Courtney Killian found Makayla Toth for a goal hitting the left side of the net to increase the lead 3-1.

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Jada Scott contributed two goals, four shots, and four shots on goal.
Courtney Killian led the team in shots with 10 with four shots on goal.
• Makayla Toth contributed one goal, one shot, and one shot on goal in her 82 minutes of play.
Maria Wilder got four shots off for the Jennies while Haley Freeman added three shots, both Wilder and Freeman had two shots on goal.
• Goalkeeper Lindsey Johnson grabbed five saves on the day.

• Grace Behm led the Vikings with five shots and one shot on goal. 
• Peyton Stenzel added two shots and one shot on goal for Augustana.
