WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Nov. 2, 2018) - No. 15 Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball made quick work of the Missouri Southern Lions in a 3-0 sweep in their penultimate match of the season. The Jennies stand at 23-6 this season and 13-4 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• The Jennies didn't allow MSSU to score more than 15 points, winning their sets 25-11, 25-15, 25-15. There was only one tie in the entire match, coming early on in set three.
• The Jens hit .294 while the Lions were under .100 at .033.
• In the final two sets, the Jens sideout percentage was at least 80% while the Lions were at 50% or below in all three.
• Central Missouri did a lot of damage at the net with 9.5 blocks to Missouri Southerns two.
• The Jennies scored the first six points of the match with five kills and a service ace. After the Lions got to within two, 7-5, UCM used another 6-0 run to jump on top 13-5 and never looked back on their way to a 25-11 win. The Lions hit just six kills and seven errors in the set whiel the Jennies landed 10 kills with four aces and three blocks.
• Set two wasn't much different as the Jennies raced out to an 8-2 lead. Like set one, the Jennies led end-to-end in a 25-15 win. The Jens scored the final four points with two MSSU attack errors and kills from
Hannah Engelken and
Kylie Hohlen. Central Missouri hit .341 for the match.
• The Jens never trailed in set three, but the Lions used a 4-2 run to tie the set at six. After that UCM scored four straight with a pair of kills from
Rylee Neigenfind. The Jennies lead was never again in question. They went on top by 10, 20-10 and won by that amount, 25-15. For the second straight set, UCM hit over .300 at .306.

Kylie Hohlen picked up eight kills and 10 digs.
