WARRENSBURG,Mo.(Sept. 26, 2018)-- No. 17 Central Missouri is back on the road this week after two back to back home games last week. The Jennies went 1-0-1 last week against two MIAA opponents. Last Friday the Jens defeated Southwest Baptist 3-1, then came back Sunday to draw with Missouri Southern 2-2 in double overtime. The Jennies are now 8-1-1 on the season and move to 2-0-1 in the MIAA. The Jennies will travel to Oklahoma for a pair of road games first taking on Northeastern State, before heading to No. 16 Central Oklahoma to take on the undefeated Bronchos.

The Week Ahead
•The Jennies just came off of an 1-0-1 week at Jennies Field. The Jennies took on the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist and the Lions of Missouri Southern. The Jens beat the Bearcats 3-1, then the team then turned around and played Missouri Southern in another conference match up ending in a draw in double overtime 2-2. The Jennies are now 8-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the MIAA.
• The Jennies enter the 2018 season ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America). UCM is coming off its eighth straight MIAA Regular Season championship, fourth MIAA Tournament championship, fourth straight Central Region crown, and a 2017 NCAA D2 National Championship Title.
Series History
Northeastern State: UCM leads 10-2-1
The Jennies have won three straight over Northeastern State dating back to 2016. They have never lost to NSU in Tahlequah.
No. 16 Central Oklahoma: UCM leads 9-4-3
UCM shutout UCO in their one and only meeting of the 2017 season. The game was played at Jennies Field, and the Jens shutout the Bronchos 3-0.
Scouting the Competition
Northeastern State Riverhawks
• The Riverhawks are now 6-4-0 on the season. After falling to Nebraska Kearney 1-2 in double overtime. Later in the week they took on the Tigers of Fort Hays State and were defeated 0-1.
• NSU is led by Mariah Nicolet and Paula Chavez. Nicolet, a junior mid-fielder is leading the team in shots this season with 28 thus far and one assist and she also has five goals on the season. Chavez, a sophomore forward has two goals on the season, and leads the Riverhawks in assist with three thus far. Riverhawk goalkeeper sophomore Brennan Hockett has 40 saves on the year.
• Head Coach Chase Wooten is entering her eighth season as the Head Women's Soccer Coach.
• The Jennies lead the Riverhawks all-time 10-2-1.
No. 16 Central Oklahoma Bronchos
• The Bronchos are coming off of another 2-0 week. They defeated the Tigers of Fort Hays State 3-0 on the road. Then they turned around and defeated Nebraska-Kearney 5-0 on the road as well.
• The Bronchos are led by senior forward Katie Killion, who has 12 goals on the season, 50 shots and five assist. shots thus far. Senior forward Morgan Cherry is a player to watch with five goals, one assist, and 21 shots on the season. The Bronchos goalkeeper freshman Kelsi Gibson has 14 saves on the season and has faced 32 shots.
• Head Coach Mike Cook has been with the program since it started, he has taken his team to the NCAA Tournament 11 times in 20 seasons of play.
• Central Missouri leads Central Oklahoma 9-4-3 all-time.
Opening Weekend
• The Jennies 88 goals scored last this season ranks them in the top five in Division II in total goals at second.
• The Jennies are averaged 3.52 goals per game this season which ranked third in Division II in scoring offense.
• UCM's 45 assists last season was the most in the MIAA and was tied for tenth most in Division II.
• With 221 points total on 88 goals scored and 45 assists, the Jennies were third in Division II in total points.
• In 24 games last season, UCM outscored opponents 88-4 with a 538-204 shots advantage.
Bringing Home the Hardware
• The Jennies posted shutouts in 21 of their wins last season and their four goals allowed was the least allowed in Division II this season.
• The Jennies all-around defense in shutouts (21), shutout percentage (.875), goals-against average (.160), and save percentage (.956) leads all of Division II this season.
• The Jennies were only team in Division II that allowed just four goals this season. The Jennies four goals allowed was the least allowed in the MIAA. Their 21 shutouts and 25 wins was the most in a single season in UCM History
One for the Record Books
• The 2017 squad is the first team in program history and MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts.
• UCM was just the fourth team in NCAA Division II history to post 12 consecutive shutouts
• Dating back to the 2015 season, UCM has scored a goal in 58 straight games which is both a UCM and MIAA record.
• The Jennies were 26-0-0 for the first time in program history. No other team in program history has ever accomplished that feat.
• UCM's 221 points and 88 goals are the most in a single season in program history.
