MARYVILLE, Mo. (Jan. 15, 2017) - Central Missouri Jennies Basketball picked up their 10th straight win, downing Northwest Missouri 74-58. The Jennies remain unbeaten in the MIAA at 7-0 and are 13-1 overall.
How it Happened
• Northwest kept things close through three quarters, and the Jennies led by six, 69-66.
• UCM took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 points and shooting 9-17 from the floor and 5-9 from three.
• The Bearcats actually won the rebounding edge, 38-36 and outscored the Jennies 12-9 on second chance points.
• After a bit of a sloppy first half, UCM committed just three turnovers to 11 assists in the second half.
• Neither team got into much of foul trouble, as the Jennies committed 13, and the Bearcats 12.
• There were six early lead change, but the Jennies still led for more than 37 minutes of action.Â
• Northwest was still down just six early in the fourth, but a jumper from
Jolene Shipps and a three from
Sydney Skaggs pushed the lead to 11.
• The Jens continued to get threes, two from
Sydney Crockett and one from Redmond.
• A three-point play from Redmond with 19 seconds to play gave the Jennies their largest lead, and the final, 74-58.
It Was Over When...
•
Sydney Crockett played a terrific all around game, and hit three triples, all in the second-half. After the Bearcats cut the Jennies lead to nine, 62-53 on a three from Jaelyn Haggard, Crockett answered right away, splashing a triple to put UCM up 12, 65-53.
Jennies Stat Leaders
•
Paige Redmond led the Jennies scoring 15 points, she also had three assists and hit two threes.Â

Morgan Fleming scored 11 points. She did most of her damage early, scoring six points in the first quarter. She also dished out four assists.

Megan Skaggs was very effective in her 22 minutes of action. She scored 10 points on 4-6 shooting, and was 2-3 from three.Â
• Crockett filled the stat sheet with nine points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Jolene Shipps and
Kelsey Williams both scored eight. Shipps had three rebounds and Williams four assists.Â

Kayonna Lee led the team with eight rebounds and scored six points. She also blocked three shots. Â

Sydney Skaggs scored seven on 2-3 shooting.
For the Bearcats
• Jaelyn Haggard led all scorers with 21 points.Â
• Tanya Meyer was 4-15 from the floor for nine points. She grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
• Kaylani Maiava scored eight points and had seven rebounds.
• Mallory McAndrews hit a pair of three-pointers for six points.

• Eight different Jennies played at least 10 minutes and scored at least 10 points.
• Central Missouri has now won 10 straight games for the second time in as many seasons.
• The Jennies are 7-0 in the MIAA for the first time since 1990-91 when they started 10-0.
• UCM has won 11 of their last 12 against Northwest Missouri.

Paige Redmond hit career three-pointer number 100. Just the ninth Jennie to ever do that.
•
Kelsey Williams scored her 300th career point at UCM and
Kayonna Lee grabbed her 400th career rebound.
