WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Nov. 3, 2017)-- Central Missouri Jennies Soccer punched their ticket to MIAA Tournament Championship as they shutout the the Fort Hays State Tigers 3-0 on Friday afternoon out at Jennies Field. With the win, the Jennies improve to a program best 20-0 on the season.
How It Happened
• The Jennies scored all three of the goals in the first 45 minutes and, like they have done nearly all season, controlled the tempo and pace from the start. Defensively, they held the Tigers (10-6-4) to three shots all 90 minutes with just one coming on frame. The Jennies put up 18 shots for the game and had six of be on goal.Â
• UCM's first goal came at the 8:40 mark when
Baylie Edwards scored after a corner kick that was deflected,which lined her up for a quick score into an empty net. The Jennies never looked back after taking the 1-0 lead.

Kayla Hamner pushed the Jens lead to 2-0 midway through the first period in the 22 nd minute. She handled a pass from
Abby Rhodes on the left wing and sent a high shot to right end of the net before the goalkeeper could make a play on it. Rhodes was credited the assist.
• It became a 3-0 game in the 31st minute when
Makayla Toth played a pass from
Jada Scott at the top of the box, went to the right side and hit the left end of the net. Scott was credited the as UCM went into halftime up 3-0.
• Neither team scored in the second period, but the Jennies defense proved to be too much for the Tigers as they held FHSU to just one shot in the second period to earn the shutout win.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Rhodes and Edwards each finished with four shots overall. Edwards had one shot come on goal as she also had the gamewinner for the Jennies.
• Hamner, Toth, Scott, and
Megan Woolley each had two shots for the day.Â
• In net, Dilkes only had to record one save for UCM in three shots faced. She and the Jennies defense earned their 18th shutout of the season.
For the Tigers
• No player for FHSU finished with more than one shot a piece. Darby Hirsch, Savannah McClease, and Kylie Thomas all had one shot for the game. Thomas' shot was the only one to come of frame for the Tigers
• In net, Kristen Thompson grabbed three saves in 18 shots faced, and allowed all three goals.
News and Notes
• With the win on Friday afternoon, the Jennies improved to 20-0-0, which is the best record in program history through 20 games. No other team in UCM history has ever been undefeated without a tie through 20 games. The closest team to do it was the 2010 squad that finished 19-1-0.Â
• The Jennies 18th shutout is the most in Division II this season. They need just one more shutout to match their single season record of 19, which they set last season.
• In net, Dilkes 18 shutouts are also the most in a single season. Her previous best was 17 which she set in 2016. She already owns the Division II records for career shutouts and extended it with Friday's win to 61.
• The Jennies extend their MIAA record of scoring at least one goal in a game to 53 straight.

• UCM will have a chance to win its fourth straight MIAA Tournament Title and fifth overall this Sunday, Nov. 5. The Jennies will take on second-seeded Missouri Western for the MIAA Championship at Jennies Field. Kickoff against the Griffons is set for 1 p.m.
